You’ll have to forgive the use of demonic imagery on my last 2 posts, but unfortunately, a lot of the content I write about is battling against demons.
The explore page on my wife’s Instagram has been a cesspool of onlyfans models pretending to breastfeed, people masturbating or making jokes about masturbating, little girls dancing in skimpy clothes, and horribly abused animals that pretty much never have a happy ending.
We’re used to seeing people’s sexual degeneracy and ideological lunacy, but most of the time, the reels we saw were about the things we actually liked from pages that we follow. My wife and I would often laugh at people acting like idiots, coming up with new pronouns, or being overall very cringy, but those videos would only come up occasionally.
I only noticed this recently, but my wife said that things have gotten much more pornographic since the beginning of February.
Instagram is supposed to have a filter for nudity and pornographic content, as well as an age restriction limit of 13 years, but none of these seem to be enforced despite clear instances of pornographic content and child-run pages. Yet, Instagram is also known for taking down posts that aren’t actually in violation of their guidelines. The selectivity with which Instagram deems posts to be in violation or not clearly demonstrates major flaws in its algorithm.
The latest trend is the onlyfans models posting reels of them breastfeeding a fake baby. Instagram does not censor posts of mothers actually breastfeeding their children, so these models are taking advantage of the algorithm to peddle their lascivious wares. The descriptions of these reels are made to look like they are giving breastfeeding tips, and the hashtags are all related to breastfeeding, motherhood, nurturing, etc.
There is no attempt on the models’ part to hide what they are doing. They grab their breasts provocatively and squeeze them while pressing a fake baby doll against themselves. Firstly, the levels to which these people are stooping to get views is nothing less than evil. Breastfeeding and breasts are not sexual! They are twisting the intimate moments of bonding between a mother and her baby by glorifying and sexualizing their breasts, and taking advantage of a public platform to sell their sex videos, a platform which children have access to.
Secondly, both breasts don’t need to be out to feed a baby. Some of the dolls being used are somewhat realistic looking, but others just use children’s dolls or pictures of babies on the screen to bypass their lewdness. If mothers have to breastfeed in public, they typically have a blanket or cloth. I can understand the mothers on Instagram who purposely want to de-sexualize breastfeeding by showing it, but it really is supposed to be an intimate moment of bonding between mother and child and is better kept private for the purpose of preserving that intimacy.
Thirdly, people in the comments are split between being bothered and those who shamelessly swoon over the nudity. Some people happily embrace sexual degeneracy, even though kids could easily be exposed to adult content in this way. The barriers between adults and children are being breached constantly and this trend goes to show that the moral fabric of our society doesn’t care if children are exposed to pornographic content.
This brings me to the next trend of sexual degeneracy: public masturbation. There are so many videos of people touching themselves or alluding to masturbation on Instagram, that it might as well be pornhub. We may not be seeing full on details, but it’s more of the fact that people are filming themselves in these sexual contexts and posting them to a platform that, again, can be accessed by children.
Automatic dildo machines, automatic fleshlight machines, semen, squirting, moaning, blowjobs, all of this is on Instagram! and some of it is becoming more and more explicit. Our society is obsessed with all things sex. There is hardly any media that doesn’t portray some sort of sex, and lots of media now portrays very explicit sex scenes and nudity. This is not a wave of progression as many think, it is succumbing to sexual slavery, and the message that this sends to children is that it’s okay to be degenerate. And the evidence for that is obvious with the next trend.
Let me remind you that Instagram’s guidelines claim that no one under 13 is supposed to be able to have an account. Why is it then that there are countless videos of girls younger than that dressed in swimsuits or skimpy clothes dancing and twerking on the platform? I wrote a whole other article about this specific issue, and I’m mentioning it because now those videos are becoming more common in the explore page. There’s no other content remotely similar that me or my wife interacted with, yet the algorithm is pushing videos like these that show unsupervised kids acting foolish. Some of the videos are kids just being kids, but the comments on those videos are of grown men telling them how beautiful they are. Other videos are more explicit with girls twerking and dancing in skin tight or skimpy clothes. It’s no surprise when you consider the ADULT content that they have access to likely runs through their feeds constantly. You might say that it’s the parents’ fault and that they should be paying more attention to what their kids are doing online, and they should! But clearly there’s only so much that parents can do aside from not letting them have access at all.
Lastly, and perhaps what hurts me and my wife the most are the numerous videos of animals who have been abused and abandoned. My wife used to run a cat sanctuary. She had over 40 cats with FIV that she treated, getting them all into remission. There’s nothing she loves more than cats and other animals, so imagine how gut-wrenching it is for her to be bombarded by hundreds of reels of abused animals interspersed between sexual degeneracy and unsupervised, sexualized children. Instagram has become an incredibly dark and toxic place.
I know what you might be thinking, “If it bothers you so much, why not just stop using the app?”, which I have no problem with, but ignoring a problem doesn’t make it go away. Plus, my wife and I use Instagram for our ministry, so it’s not something we can just stop using.
It’s one thing for people to seek out adult content on their own, but to have it pervade every nook and cranny of social media just shows how degenerate our society has become. This hyper-normalization of public sexuality can only be a bad thing. This is not sexual freedom, it’s slavery to vice and its effects, especially on children, are devastating. With the prevalence of public sexuality, people are encouraged to engage their base and carnal nature rather than with virtue and something beyond themselves, like God, and the worst part is the hijacking of childhood innocence by exposing kids and teens to hyperpornographic content.
Why Instagram of all places? A platform that is supposed to have guidelines has so many loopholes that allow for pseudo, softcore, and even hardcore pornography. Why do their filters fail? Why are they so lax with the content that is clearly pornographic and exploitative of minors? What message does that send? That sexual degeneracy is “normal” and that people should exploit themselves and others for fame and money.
Instagram and other social media platforms are reflections of the society we are creating with complex algorithms that are driving home ultra-liberal narratives of “sexual progression and liberation.” These algorithms add fuel to the fire and reward degeneracy through monetary gain, views, likes, etc. The only thing that can be done is for enough people to say no and quit engaging with social media. People have to learn that what they think is freedom is actually slavery that only reinforces soul-crushing vices. But of course, this is an impossible notion in our current cultural climate. Instagram, you’re not off the hook. You need to do better. Get your filters in order and enforce them the way that you claim to. What the hell is wrong with you?
